Voice of Change

A Message from Nicole

My name is Nicole, and I have been in recovery for seven years. As the oldest of three siblings, I graduated and pursued college studies and business. I eventually returned home to help my father manage our household while my mother was struggling with addiction.

Shortly after, the marijuana I was using was laced with crack and cocaine.

That moment marked the start of a destructive cycle of drug use and unhealthy relationships that lasted for 20 years. On December 29, 2017, while getting high, I believed I was having a heart attack. Tired of being sick and tired, I surrendered to God and entered a 30-day treatment program. I have not looked back since.

With God’s guidance and the unwavering support of my family and community, I have remained clean and sober. Today, I have found my true identity in Christ and am passionate about helping other women on their journey to recovery.
